Welcome to Map Suite™ Spatial Data Extension from ThinkGeo, an add-on for Map Suite Desktop, Web, Silverlight and Services Editions that enables reading of spatial data from ArcSDE 9.3. Now you can use the familiar tools of Map Suite to render ArcSDE data just like you would ShapeFiles, Oracle Spatial or other supported formats.
Activating the Spatial Data Extension is as easy as adding a reference in your Map Suite project. In just a few lines of code, your ArcSDE data is exposed in Map Suite as a layer and a FeatureSource so that you can programmatically read the data.
In this article, we will discuss how to install Map Suite Spatial Data Extension 7.0.0.0 or higher on your machine and upgrade your development environment.

• Minimum 400 MHz processor
• Minimum 256 MB RAM
• Microsoft Windows NT4/2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/7/8/2008 Server
• Visual Studio 2008/2010/2012/Express
• .NET Framework 4.0 or higher
• Supports Visual Basic .NET, C#, J# or any .NET-compatible language

To process ahead with the installation of Map Suite Service Edition, you should have .Net Framework 4.0 or higher. Please get it from Upgrade sample to support .NET 4.0.

Install Visual Studio or Visual Studio Express To develop your application with Map Suite Component, the Visual Studio or Visual Studio Express is necessary.

Download and run the Map Suite Spatial Data Extension Evaluation Edition.

NOTE: Please make sure you have an internet connection while running this installer as it needs to register on line.

Your Installation will look like this as following:

Click Next → Agree License Agreement → Select the installation folder:

Click Next → You will get installation progress screen:

Now, your development environment is ready and you can have GIS featured travel with installed samples or create any application you want with Map Suite SDK, which can be found in “[Installation Folder]\ThinkGeo\Map Suite Spatial Data Extension Evaluation Edition\”.
