====== Map Suite Icon Library Quick Start Guide ====== Welcome to the Map Suiteā„¢ Icon Library from ThinkGeo, a complete collection of professionally designed icons comprising a variety of categories and topics. You can use these icons royalty-free in your GIS applications, web sites, software projects or anywhere else you can imagine. The purpose of this guide is to help familiarize you with the contents of the Map Suite Icon Library and the built-in Icon Colorizer tool. ==== Map Suite Icon Library ==== The product is supplied as a ZIP file that contains all of the icons divided into folders, plus a special folder for the bundled Icon Colorizer tool. Once the file is unzipped, you can see the folder structure as follows: {{:IconLibraryQuickStart01.png}} Within each folder, you'll see that there are icons in a variety of different pre-rendered sizes, ranging from 24x24 to 128x128, so as to meet various requirements. Each icon is supplied as a 32-bit PNG -- or, in other words, a 24-bit color image with an 8-bit alpha channel for soft transparency. {{:IconLibraryQuickStart02.png}} Once you drill down into the folders by size, you will see the icons themselves. {{:IconLibraryQuickStart03.png}} ==== Icon Colorizer Tool ==== The Map Suite Icon Library also includes a free utility called the Icon Colorizer, which allows you to easily change the color style of any icon in the library. For example, in the following screenshot, we altered the original image by shifting it to a light blue color, then saved it as a new icon to be used in a special application. This tool makes it easy for you to adjust the hue, brightness and saturation of any icon without needing expensive graphic manipulation software or experience in graphics editing. {{:IconLibraryQuickStart04.png}}
